Kelly is not for play this fourth quarter. He plans on releasing several albums over the next year, inlcuding “Love Letter”, the one that features this track. This is so Sam Cooke, so 1960’s Chicago. Enjoy.

Call it a comeback! Arguably one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around, Colin Munroe — the Unsung Hero, is back with this Prince cover.
Colin has been quiet on the scene for some time now dealing with behind the scenes stuff but true talent never goes unheard for too long. Check him out and leave a comment if you would like the download.
And if for some reason you never got his critically acclaimed Unsung Hero project (my claim to fame), treat yourself by clicking the link below.
Looks like young Lloyd might be ready to test Trey Songz for the king of young RnB. This Polow Da Don produced track has all the elements and shows LLoyd paying homage, directly or indirectly, to the old school. It kicks off with a sample from Patti Labelle’s “Love, Need, and Want You” then turns uptempo. The first words sung are from Gerald Levert’s “Casanova”, and of course “Lay your head on my pillow” was made famous by Tony Toni Toné. You can’t go wrong with that kind of formula.

New Art: Phella – Deaf Poetry Jam (Wake’s Hearing Aid Rebuild)
July 18th, 2010 by Da Fam Ink
Deaf Poetry Jam Part 1 was originally the acapella intro track for Phella’s 2009 EP entitled Gimme A Second I Swear. It was well received by listeners. Detroit based producer, Wake, recently took the vocals and built this track around them. It has the same motivational and inspirational vibe as the original, just stepped up a few notches with Wake’s excellent production.
The visual is a compilation of exclusive video and photos of Phella to accompany the words of the track.
You Go Girl: Audra – Beamer, Benz, or Bentley Freestyle
April 21st, 2010 by Phella
Babygirl has been working hard since the day I met her (some time back in ‘08) and hasn’t stopped since. Seems the rest of the world is starting catch on to what I saw then. Keep going!

“Hope you take from it something you can use. Whether you take from it just the music to sing along and vibe to, or the insight into my life and how I’m feeling at the time, or the underlying message of making the best out whatever the world hands you; thanks and you’re welcome.”
This one gets Da Fam stamp of approval for certain. Great track. Vintage Badu.

Need a quick crash course on economist theory on how to bring the US economy back up to par?
Fear not. Russell Roberts, an economics professor at George Mason University put together a hip-hop inspired video to inform people on economic theory. The ideas of both John Maynard Keynes and Friedrich von Heyek, both highly regarded economist during their times, are purveyed.
School yourself.
I’d listen to this over Gucci Mane any day…I’m just saying.
