With a successful 5th year anniversary under their belt, Commonwealth is set to release another collaborative project before the year is out. They’ve teamed up with Seattle-based clothing company, Maiden Noir. Maiden Noir is widely known for their immaculate attention to detail that they incorporate in all of their garments.
The lookbook for the collection is crazy in its own right, not to mention it was shot on the Chesapeake Bay which is literally a stone’s throw from my home. The offerings from the collab will include three jackets, a long-sleeved button up shirt, and a wool cashmere beanie. The entire line will be available starting Saturday, December 26th online and in both brick & mortar shops (D.C. and Norfolk, VA) but will be limited to about a dozen pieces per style so scrounge up your Holiday booty and purchase a few pieces from the collection before they’re gone.

If you’re unfamiliar with 13thWitness then it’s about time you logged on. Timothy McGurr is the creative genius behind 13thWitness; the project serves as a means for McGurr’s artistic expression and most importantly his daily documentation of life. Check out the site to see some of the illest photography you’ve probably ever seen. Based in New York, McGurr openly admits that he uses photography to chronicle life and all of its aspects. Also, if you’re interested in a behind the scenes look of what McGurr does you can catch him in action with Maestro Knows right here (take note of how important lighting is in the photography process).
As the New Year approaches, 13thWitness has put together a calender for and yours featuring some of said photography. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect…
Make sure to check out the 13thWitness project and if you’re interested for $40 you can purchase a calendar. What better way to keep you motivated throughout the entire year than with some moving photography? I’ll be purchasing one before the New Year hits.

I’m not sure who’s behind this (Ace Hood and Khaled maybe?) but I got the email around 4am when Blackberry’s started working again and logged on this morning. Either way, I want in. They seem to be all about hustle, struggle, ambition and all those other words that wakes us up in the morning. Treat yourself.

While in Canada, Cudi linked up with Nardwuar for an interview. The interview is pretty good and boasts some stuff about Cudi most of us have probably never heard. Make sure to watch until the end…
It must be something about Canada that makes Cudi trip. First he played punching bag with some poor kid’s face and now this…

It was all fun and games at 14th and U ST in Washington DC Saturday – that is until a weapon was drawn. A much publicized snowball fight was taken place when a plain clothes police officer was pelted by civilians. The officer took offense to the snow throwers and stepped out of his vehicle and drew his gun. Fortunately cooler heads prevailed and the incident didn’t snowball. (Haha)

Ever since the schism of our mother site, Da Fam Inc., and this here blog that you’re now reading occurred I’ve (keyword –>) tried to post less material commodities and focus on exposing more intellectual or entertaining content. Dahhhh well…seeing as Christmas is around the corner I’ll give you guys a taste of some worldly possessions that have caught my eye recently. I’ll call it my “Oh in case you were wondering what Chris would appreciate as a gift this season” Christmas/Birthday Gift List.
1. Nike x Patta Air Max 1 – I’ve always been a sucker for gum soles. Available now at Patta’s Precinct 5 store in Amsterdam. Get your passport ready.
2. Kaws 4 Foot Black Dissected Companion – Self explanatory. You’ll have to fly to the Original Fake flagship store in Tokyo to bring this home for me though.
3. Converse x Fragment Design – Hiroshi Fujiwara strikes again with his third installment of collaborative sneakers with Converse. Available December 26th.
4. Louis Vuitton Shades – These are from their 2010 Spring Collection. A little LV Millionaire-esque.
5. Dior Homme Sneaker – These are also from a Spring 2010 collection. Super simple design, the laces do all the talking.
For your troubles, I’ll even ask that you don’t wrap my gifts. I tear wrapping paper to shreds like a 10 year old anyway. Thanks.

All of us over at Da Fam would like send our condolences to Chris Henry’s family, friends, and teammates.
Henry passed away this morning after being involved in an accident in which he fell from the bed of a pickup truck. Regrettably, this tragedy is all too reminiscent of another NFL star’s passing. In 2007, Sean Taylor was away from his team due to an injury, identical to Henry’s situation, when he was slain in his Miami home. Both men had pasts spotted with controversies but were on their way to correcting their lifestyles.
You can see how visibly shaken Chad Ochocinco is by his friend’s passing here. This is another tragic loss in this forgettable year. 2009, you’ve taken enough lives to satisfy even the devil’s greed; leave us in peace. 2010, bring us health and prosperity. Chris Henry, may you rest in peace.

For some reason Blackberry devices and the internet in general are acting up today. Reminds of the funniest South Park episode ever, “Over Logging”

For the second time in as many weeks, Kobe Bryant delivers a victory for the LA Lakers with a last second shot. Better quality video on the way.
