Blackberry Watch

The inPulse Smartwatch is now available for pre-order for $150.  The watch will connect to your Blackberry via bluetooth and alert you of incoming calls, SMS, and e-mails.  Seems a bit gimmicky but then again, people will do anything for crack(berries).

Thoughts?

Mike Posner’s “One Foot Out The Door” Available Now

October 28th, 2009 by CG

Crooner, Mike Posner’s second mixtape is now available on iTunes for free.  The tape is presented by Clinton Sparks and DJ Benzi and it’s also sponsored by LRG.  If this second offering holds water to Posner’s first it’s sure to be full of great material.

Mike Posner One Foot Out The Door

If you’re unfamiliar with Mike Posner’s story here’s a stream of consciousness description…

Michigan native…college senior at Duke University…”victim” intense label bidding war during finals week last year…signed with J Records (RCA/Sony)…met Jay-Z (he’ll tell you about it if you have First Date Sex)…exploited a loophole on iTunes to offer his first mixtape, A Matter of Time, for free…somehow manages to produce soulful R&B infused with a distinct hip-hop influence from his dorm room while still passing a full course-load…posed to take over and reinvent the way people listen to music.

Download One Foot Out The Door (and the first tape, A Matter of Time, if you can find it)…you will not be disappointed.

Phil trying to play it off is the funniest thing I’ve seen all week.

Props to WSHH

Terry Richardson x Rosa Acosta

October 27th, 2009 by CG

Everybody’s favorite new video vixen + the crudest photographer around = some interesting material.

Terry Richardson x Rosa Acosta3

Rosa Acosta is featured in this season’s Supreme magazine and for her shoot they solicited the help of renowned photographer Terry Richardson.  As expected when anyone works with Terry, the photoshoot yielded some riveting captivating jaw-dropping images.  Enjoy the product (but not too much).

Patta x Nike AM1

October 27th, 2009 by CG

We’ve all been through stages when we made less than praiseworthy fashion decisions.  I remember back when I had some—-actually, I’d rather not relive that…However, I am proud to say that I’ve graduated from foolish fashion choices and I can truly appreciate simplicity in all it’s glamour.

Patta and Nike bring us a new collaboration utilizing the palette of my favorite Air Max of all time, the Air Max 1 (or ‘87 for those of you in the know). I think the olive green sets the shoe off perfectly yet keeps things very simple…the way it should be.

Nike x Patta Air Max 1

Release details to come.

Joell Ortiz Wreckin Peoples’ Songs

October 27th, 2009 by CG

The Spanish homie from Brooklyn has been on a rampage lately. As him and his Slaughterhouse brothers tour the West Coast he’s been finding time to damage other artists’ beats. In this case, Hov’s ‘Run This Town’ and 50 Cent’s ‘Crime Wave’.

What I’m Up To: Nisarg

October 26th, 2009 by Nisarg Lives

What Am I Up To? A lot.

I’ve finally decided to take the plunge into writing, after years of putting it off. As they say in that oh-so-memorable film, A Bronx Tale: “There’s nothing worse than wasted talent.” How true it is. And I’m going to go the 50 Cent-mixtape era route…so expect to see my writing everywhere. Everywhere.

As far as actual projects:
-Got about 30 books I want to read between now and the end of the year. If I finish half that, I’ll be happy
-A poem I’m writing about my grandma, so I can save all the memories I have of her. I haven’t really thought about her since she passed in ‘04, but I don’t want to lose the great times either
-My blog (that’s like Detox tho — expect it ‘early next year‘ haha)
-Read the Bible, Koran, and Bhagavad Gita. Then visit a mosque, Church, and Temple, and interview the respective leaders. Find out what all this religious fuss is about . (This one will prolly take about a year to complete, and will be in my Benjamin Franklin-paper style. Not sure where or how it’ll be distributed tho.)
-Gym
-The Final Frontier: Women. I swear that by the end of the year I’ll have ‘em figured out…Get Laid or Die Tryin lol

Shouts to Phella, Giel, DJ Laser, and I can’t wait to meet the homie Chris. Thanks for allowing me to speak my piece on this dope site. Much appreciated.

Aiiiiiiiite love!

2011 Lexus LFA

October 26th, 2009 by CG

Lexus LFA

Lexus is now taking pre-orders on its LFA model, a two-seater super sports car.  Production begins at the end of 2010 and with only 5oo units to hit the sales floor it’s sure to be spotted a time or ten in your favorite rappers’ videos.  <sarcasm> Oh joy! </sarcasm>

Seriously though, this beast of a machine is sure to turn a few heads.  Wouldn’t mind someone throwing down a pre-payment for my Christmas gift.  Thanks guys.

Medusa

October 26th, 2009 by CG

Must. Have. Now.

Medusa Shower Head

Vado, a leading UK brassware design company, has manufactured this marvel of a shower head.  They coined this design the “Sculpture”.  I can’t help but envision Medusa staring her icy (…or stoney?) glare at me when I look at this fixture; be that as it may, I can only imagine how refreshing a shower under this would be.

What I’m Up To: Phella

October 26th, 2009 by CG

Every now and then we’ll have people (some famous and some not) check in with what they’re up to or how they’re feeling at the present moment. Here’s @Phella’s current state of mind:

I am absolutely positively chillin. This Da Fam Inc and Da Fam Ink stuff is fun if nothing else. It’s work too but it’s fun. Between Chris Grant, DJ Laser, Giel over in the Netherlands, Nisarg and everyone else that’s helping, I finally feel like we have a team. Someone told me the other day to not settle for applause and keep going till I get a standing ovation; I’m going to use that for these last two months as my motivation. So often, especially in this internet age we live in, we can easily feel accomplished while there is plenty left to be done.

A breakthrough here and there=Applause.
Forbes lists, platinum sales, entire family living comfortable, making history, changing lives=Standing Ovation.

Howard Homecoming 2009

October 26th, 2009 by dafamink

Here’s an inside perespective of Phella and DJLaser at Howard University homecoming, distributing music, socializing and enjoying the festivities. Performers out there included D.Woods, Wale, Fabolous, Clipse, Big Sean and plenty more. The rain held off and it was a good time out on the yard for all in attendance.

Special thanks to Fresco for the photos.
